Riot police fought running street battles with masked youths once more after an Athens rally Friday, in the first major test of the new Greek Cabinet's vow to crack down on violence after nationwide riots last month.
The rally came two days after conservative Prime Minister Costas Karamanlis reshuffled his Cabinet and promised tougher policing to counter the "catastrophic violence" of last month's riots, which were sparked by the Dec. 6 fatal police shooting of a teenager.
