VIC: Kennett tour prepares country areas for poll battles

Premier JEFF KENNETT sets off today on his second whistlestop tour of regional Victoria in
a fortnight, as speculation over an election announcement mounts.

The Victorian Premier yesterday denied he'll set a date soon, and his office says the
two-day trip is part of Mr KENNETT's regular round of visits to rural and regional areas.

But, like his trip through Victoria's western district late last month, today's tour is set
against incessant media speculation on when Mr KENNETT will call the election.

This latest trip will take in Lorne, Birregurra, Colac, Port Campbell, Warrnambool, Wimmera
and Stawell.
